Pieces of Work
Fun Study Guide
Several days before taking a Unit Test, my teacher, Mrs. Riddle, had my class work in groups to create a fun game to review for the class. My group and I decided to make QR codes, and have questions from our study guide on each code. We spread the codes out around the locker bay, making it similar to a scavenger hunt. As several of my classmates played my review game, I was in the class playing another group's game. This activity helped me review for the Unit Test in a fun way, and allowed me to get a better understanding of the material that I didn't grasp when first learning it. If I had to go back and change the way I did this project, I would make some of the questions harder, and spread the QR codes further apart, because some of them were too easy to see, making it simple for my classmates to find them.
Career Day
After learning about different Biomedical Technology careers, my teacher paired up everyone in my class, assigned us a career that we had just learned about, and told us we would be having a career day. We had to create a tri-fold, poster, PowerPoint, etc. to present all of the information that was on the rubric. My partner and I were assigned to be Radiologic Technologists, so we created a tri-fold that included how much education a Radiologic Technologist had to go through, how much they earned per year, where they worked, and x-rays of different bones in the body, because our main job was to take x-rays. Since we were in partners, one partner would stay at their booth, and the other would go around the room to all of the other booths to learn more about what each career did. Once everyone had gone around, we switched partners so that everyone could gather the information. If I had to go back and do this project again, I would change how my tri-fold was set up, and make it colorful so that it be more interesting and be an attention grabber.
